Board of Education Annual Election

The May 19, 2020 Budget Vote and School Board Election has been rescheduled for June 9, 2020 by absentee ballot only.

District residents who are interested in running for a Board of Education position should contact MaryAnn Rosamilia, District Clerk, at 516-568-6117 or mrosamilia@valleystream13.com to request nominating petitions.

Nominating petitions must be submitted to the District Clerk no later than Monday, May 11, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in order to appear on the ballot for the June 9, 2020 election.  In light of the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, petitions will be accepted by mail as well as by email @ mrosamilia@valleystream13.com or delivering the petition to a secure lockbox, located at the James A. Dever School, 585 N. Corona Avenue, Valley Stream, NY 11580.

As per Executive Order 202.26, there is no minimum number of signatures required for the June 9, 2020 School Board Election.

Registering & Voting
Residents are encouraged to vote on the elementary and high school budgets, election of members to the Board of Education, and other propositions which come before the voters.

To be eligible to vote, a person must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years old, a resident of the school district for at least 30 days, and registered.
