The Valley Stream Union Free School District Thirteen James A. Dever Elementary School’s band, under the direction of band teacher, Mr. Glen Guidone, recently performed holiday classics for the entire community at the Village of Malverne’s holiday tree lighting celebration. During the performance, students were dressed in festive hats and scarves as they played holiday songs, including “Jingle Bells, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Deck the Halls” and many more.
Family members, friends and the Malverne community joined the students, Village of Malverne Mayor Patricia Ann Norris-McDonald and other local elected officials for the ceremonial tree lighting. Participating in this uplifting event is part of the District’s ongoing commitment to providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents and engage with their local communities.
