The Valley Stream Union Free School District Thirteen’s Willow Road School recently turned their school field into a pumpkin patch. Sponsored yearly by the PTA, this event allows students to walk through the pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin of their own to take home. The festival also asks classes to come together and guess how many pieces of candy corn are in the jar at the entrance to the pumpkin patch for a prize for the entire class.
This festival allows students to bond with their friends and also teaches the importance of teamwork to reach a common goal in guessing the amount of candy corn in the jar.
