Plaque Dedication for Founder of Intergenerational Reading Partners Program

January 30, 2017

James A. Dever Elementary School recently hosted a plaque dedication for Mimi Friedman, founder of the Intergenerational Reading Partners Program. The program, going on its 22nd year, began with a partnership between the school and the National Council of Jewish Women.

Each week reading partners visit classrooms at James A. Dever Elementary to read with students during their recess time. Students and reading partners have often formed relationships that continue long after their time in grade school. The plaque will be displayed in the library to commemorate the importance the program has had throughout the years.
