We invite you to view the James A. Dever Museum of Modern Art, featuring modern art created by every one of our talented students. The show will be on display for the entire month of March.
Please enjoy the many sculptures, collaborative art pieces and interactive art displays in the lobby, anytime you visit the school. The remaining exhibit is displayed throughout the building on the bulletin boards. Please plan to view these during the Parent/Teacher conferences March 15 & 16 after 11:30 a.m., so as not to disturb the students during the school day.
Our most exciting piece, “Dever Lifts Us”, is modeled after a recent “street art” trend that focuses on interactive art and social media. Each student created a feather with an inspirational message on how Dever “lifts them.” The feathers are glued together to create a pair of wings. Students, parents and teachers are encouraged to pose in front of the wings and share their photo to be tweeted on our Twitter page or posted on our Valley Stream 13 webpage.
