Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen Celebrated a Boo-tiful Halloween and Fall

November 9, 2023

Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen celebrated the fall season throughout October with a series of festive events and activities. The district’s schools hosted fall festivals, a pumpkin patch, a trunk-or-treat event, a Halloween parade, and a variety of fall and Halloween-themed classroom activities and lessons.

“Thank you to our dedicated PTA and exceptional teachers for their tireless efforts in making this year’s Halloween and fall festivals a huge success,” said Dr. Judith LaRocca, Superintendent of Schools. “Their creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to providing our students with memorable, enjoyable, and educational experiences truly embody the spirit of our school community.”

The fall festivals were a highlight of the month, featuring games, food, and fun for students and their families. The pumpkin patch offered students the opportunity to pick their pumpkins and learn about the growth process of these seasonal fruits. The trunk-or-treat event was a safe and fun alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. Parents and community members decorated their cars and handed out candy to the children, who were dressed in their Halloween costumes. In addition to these events, teachers incorporated Halloween-themed lessons into their curriculum.
