Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen joined schools across the county in celebrating P.S. I Love You Day, a special day dedicated to spreading kindness, positivity, and connection throughout the school community.
This year’s theme, Be the Light, encourages students and staff to shine brightly through words and actions that uplift others. Schools worked diligently to organize meaningful activities and promote compassion, unity, and understanding. For example, at Willow Road Elementary School, a symbolic lighthouse display was featured along the school’s main hallway. Representing hope and guidance, the lighthouse serves as a powerful reminder that everyone can make a positive difference. Students wrote messages of encouragement and kindness on purple paper hearts. These heartfelt messages were placed around the school, creating a visual representation of support and positivity.
Through this meaningful celebration, Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where every student feels valued, connected, and empowered to “be the light” for those around them.
