The spirit of Halloween was in full swing as Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen hosted its annual Trunk or Treat celebration across all four elementary schools.
This much-anticipated event, organized by each school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), brought together students, families, and staff for an evening of festive fun, creativity, and community spirit. School parking lots were transformed into colorful displays of decorated car trunks, where families handed out candy and treats to children dressed in their Halloween best.
“The Trunk or Treat is one of our favorite traditions,” said Superintendent Dr. Judith LaRocca. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our families to come together, celebrate safely, and enjoy the sense of community that makes Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen so special.”
From spooky themes to silly scenes, each trunk showcased the imagination and enthusiasm of the district’s families and staff. Along with trick-or-treating, many schools offered music, games, and photo opportunities to make the evening even more memorable. The District extends its gratitude to the PTAs, volunteers, and families whose creativity and hard work made this event a success. Their dedication ensures that traditions like Trunk or Treat continue to bring joy and connection to the Valley Stream community year after year.
