Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen proudly joined schools across the nation in celebrating Red Ribbon Week, dedicated to promoting healthy, drug-free lifestyles and making positive choices.
Throughout the week, students and staff at each of the district’s schools participated in a variety of themed spirit days, classroom lessons, and community activities designed to encourage kindness, respect, and personal responsibility. Students engaged in discussions about making safe and healthy decisions, created posters and pledges to remain drug-free, and participated in assemblies reinforcing the importance of positive choices. Teachers and staff modeled these values by joining in the spirit days and supporting students’ enthusiasm throughout the week.
“Red Ribbon Week provides a powerful opportunity for our schools to come together and reaffirm our commitment to helping students make safe, healthy, and informed decisions,” said Dr. Judith LaRocca, Superintendent of Schools. “The activities not only build awareness but also empower students to take pride in living drug-free.”
Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen extends its gratitude to the students, staff, and families who participated in Red Ribbon Week, helping to strengthen a culture of health, respect, and community across the district.
