Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen proudly honored its rising middle school students during moving-up ceremonies marking the conclusion of the 2024-2025 academic year. Sixth graders from James A. Dever, Willow Road, Wheeler Avenue, and Howell Road elementary schools gathered to celebrate this significant milestone and their transition into junior high schoolers.
Throughout the school year, students engaged in a rich variety of academic and extracurricular programs designed to foster intellectual curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. The moving-up ceremonies not only recognized their achievements but also symbolized the exciting opportunities awaiting them in middle school.
“These ceremonies reflect both the academic progress and personal development of our students,” said Dr. Judith LaRocca, Superintendent of Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen. “We commend our outstanding educators and families for creating an environment where every child can flourish, and we look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the years ahead.”
The celebrations featured inspiring addresses from educators, administrators, and Board of Education members, who reflected on shared memories and accomplishments. Each ceremony highlighted the resilience, dedication, and collaborative spirit that defined the graduating class.
