On Tuesday, September 3, 2025, Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen opened its doors to welcome students and staff for the first day of the 2025-2026 school year. The day was filled with excitement, energy, and a touch of first-day jitters as classrooms across the district kicked off the new school year.
Teachers stood ready with warm smiles and open arms, greeting students eager to begin a new academic journey. Hallways buzzed with laughter and conversation as students reconnected with friends, shared summer stories, and met their new teachers.
“We are thrilled to begin another year of learning, growth, and community,” said Superintendent Dr. Judith LaRocca. “The first day of school always brings a special kind of energy, and it’s inspiring to see our students return with such enthusiasm.”
Throughout the day, classrooms were abuzz with engaging activities, team-building exercises, and thoughtful introductions, all designed to ease students into their routines and foster strong relationships from day one. As the school year begins, Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen remains committed to providing a nurturing and academically enriching environment where every child can thrive.
