Willow Road Elementary School Celebrates Creativity on International Dot Day

September 30, 2025

Willow Road Elementary School proudly joined millions of students around the world in celebrating International Dot Day, a global event that encourages creativity, courage, and collaboration.

Inspired by Peter H. Reynolds’ beloved children’s book The Dot, International Dot Day is a day when students of all ages are challenged to “make their mark and see where it takes you.” At Willow Road Elementary, classrooms across all grade levels embraced the spirit of the day with a variety of imaginative and engaging activities.

Throughout the school, students participated in various classroom activities designed to highlight self-expression and the power of “just getting started.” Some classes even explored STEM-based dot challenges.

Principal Cindy Gervasi shared, “International Dot Day is a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate their unique abilities and understand that creativity comes in many forms. At Willow Road, we believe that every student has the power to make their mark on the world.”

As Willow Road Elementary continues to foster a nurturing and innovative learning environment, events like International Dot Day serve as important reminders of the value of perseverance, imagination, and believing in oneself.
