Willow Road School brought learning to life with a dynamic outdoor event featuring Nassau County police officers, firefighters, K9 units, mounted horses, and drone demonstrations.
Students rotated through a series of engaging stations, during which they met and interacted with local first responders. At each stop, the heroic professionals shared insights into their roles, equipment, and the important work they do to keep the community safe. From observing highly trained K9 dogs in action to exploring emergency vehicles and learning how drones support modern policing, students experienced an exciting, hands-on look into public safety careers.
The initiative was designed to deepen students’ understanding of community helpers while fostering appreciation for those who serve. The event also highlighted the creativity and dedication of the Willow Road PTA in providing meaningful, real-world learning experiences for students. Willow Road School’s efforts reflect a broader commitment across Long Island to enrich education through innovative programming and strong community partnerships.
The school community thanks the Nassau County police officers, firefighters, and all participants who helped make this day an unforgettable educational experience.
