Willow Road Elementary School’s fourth grade classes recently participated in an in-house field trip presented by the “Journeys into American Indian Territory” group. The trip enhanced the students’ year-long study of the Iroquois by providing hands-on experience with the wide array of topics and concepts they have learned about in class. Among the many activities, students played ancient Iroquois games, made clay pots based on an Iroquois legend, and explored the museum of original artifacts created inside the GP room by the “Journeys” group. Students enjoyed the day of learning about the Iroquois, along with participating in a traditional Iroquois song and dance.
