Willow Road Elementary School’s recent blood drive made a triumphant return, marking a significant success for the school and the local community.
“We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiastic participation and commend their spirit of service, “ said Cindy Gervasi, Principal of Willow Road Elementary School. “Thank you to our PTA for their coordination and making this event so engaging and successful.”
The unique aspect of this event was the participation of Willow Road students as “little doctors” through the Little Doctors Program. This initiative, a program for students too young to donate blood, offered these youngsters an opportunity to demonstrate leadership and community service. These young volunteers take on the responsibility of ensuring each donor is given a sticker as well as a treat, adding a touch of warmth and care to the event.
The blood drive provided the students with a valuable learning experience. It instilled in them the importance of community involvement and the value of giving back.
